A family-owned shop with Subaru roots
Sacramento Specialty Automotive is a family-owned repair business led by Joe Brazil. Joe grew up in Sacramento, and his love of engines started early. He began racing motorcycles at age five, later raced motocross professionally, and eventually moved into racing cars. That passion for learning how vehicles perform has stayed with him throughout his life.
Family has always been just as important to Joe. He and his wife, Carrie, raised two sons here, and today they enjoy spending time with their five grandchildren.
Joe’s path into shop ownership began through a friendship he made while coaching his sons’ soccer team. In 2001, he started with a Subaru-only shop and a team of three employees. As customers came to trust Joe and his team, they began asking, “Can you take care of our other cars, too?” Joe listened. The shop grew to service Toyota, Honda, and other Japanese vehicles while staying true to its Subaru roots.
Today, Sacramento Specialty Automotive has grown from those three employees to a team of more than 20, serving drivers in Downtown Sacramento, Folsom, and West Sacramento. We’re proud of that growth because it came from the trust customers placed in us over the years.

Toyota & Honda join the lineup
Growing demand leads us to invest in specialized training and equipment for Toyota and Honda.
August 2019
Folsom Automotive Service
Joe and Justin Brazil acquire Folsom Auto Center and bring it into the family as Folsom Automotive Service.
April 2025
West Sacramento
Nor Cal Performance in West Sacramento joins the family and becomes Sacramento Specialty Automotive - West Sacramento.

Joe still spends time working on classic cars and his race car. These days, you can often find Joe and Carrie at a soccer game or the racetrack.
